ESL CLASS

While CMCC is an English-speaking international church, we recognize that there are many in the community for whom English is not their first language. Therefore, we will be launching an ESL class for anyone who is interested in improving their English, from high beginners to intermediate. In this free class will be focusing on spoken English with topics that are of interest to the international Chiang Mai community: asking/answering questions about family and work, understanding and relating to the international school community, and developing greater vocabulary and fluency. If you or someone you know would benefit from this, please join us Friday afternoons from 1pm-2pm at Raintree. For more information, please contact Laurel Bohrer or the church office who will forward your inquiry on.

MEALS IN HOMES

Back by popular demand!!!

Food! Fellowship! Fun! A winning combination!

Join our CMCC family for a time of getting better acquainted over a meal!

When: either Friday or Saturday evening, March 29th or 30th

Where: in our homes

How it works: once you have signed up (either at church or by email), we will contact those who are able to host to let them know who will be joining them for dinner. The host will then determine the menu: have everyone bring a dish to share (what we call a “potluck” meal) … OR maybe order pizza and everyone shares the cost… OR whatever you decide! The host will then contact their assigned participants… and a lovely evening of food, fellowship, and fun follows!

Please let us know:

if you would be willing to host a meal in your home — and how many people you can accommodate

if you are interested in attending a meal in someone’s home — and how many people, including the number and ages of children

how we can contact you (name, phone number, email address) with further details

Either sign up at church… or send an email to fellowship@cmcchurch.org

We hope to see you there!

NEW TO CMCC?

If you are new to CMCC, please visit our Newcomers’ Table outside the left door of the sanctuary to receive a Newcomers’ Pack. This pack includes information on CMCC as well as a booklet called “Helpful Hints for Getting Settled in Chiang Mai.”

ARE YOU A CMCC MEMBER YET?

Have you been attending CMCC regularly? If so, you are encouraged to apply for membership at CMCC. There are 2 types of membership.

1. FORMAL MEMBERSHIP is for those who do not have a home church membership elsewhere and desire to make Chiang Mai Community Church their home church.

2. AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP is for those who have a church membership elsewhere but desire formal recognition of membership in Chiang Mai Community Church for the period of local residence.

Please fill out a membership form which is available at the Newcomers’ Table and return it to Pastor Simon or Pastor Mike.

CMCC SMALL GROUPS

As many of us are in transition, or are far away from our family and friends, isn’t community what we all need here? The small groups provide a wonderful place to connect to God and to each other. We have a desk next to the welcome table where you can get more information about our small groups. They come at various times, locations, activities, sizes, and shapes so there should always be one that fits you like a glove. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information about the groups: smallgroups@cmcchurch.org.

FREE EVANGELISM LITERATURE

In order to help you be more fully equipped for this special assignment from the Lord, the Outreach Committee has a table outside the front of the church on Sundays, with free resources available for you to distribute.  Please come by and take what seems suitable for those in your sphere of God’s love. It’s all FREE!

PRAYER TIME BEFORE CHURCH SERVICE ON SUNDAYS

You are encouraged to come and pray each Sunday from 3.30-4.00 p.m. in the small chapel to the left of the main sanctuary (behind the Newcomers’ Table).
